Meade 1247 electric focuser

I'm pretty sure a meade 1247 electric focuser (brother to the 1244) won't work with your fcusb. I'd be very pleased to find otherwise.

But someone has advised me that perhaps I can put a normalled through mini-phono jack inline with the motor. His crude schematic attached.

Do you know of any reason this won't work ? I'm trying to preserve the focus functionality of the original handcontroller as well as add the FCUSB.

If the 1247 uses a DC motor, the FCUSB should work. Also, I think your schematic should work too.
