Problem with EQDIR

Post by ravens » Thu Nov 16, 2017 5:20 pm

I got the USB2EQ5 cable today and then plugged it in and turned on the mount and set the EQDIRCheck to the com port the cable is using it keeps showing could not connect to EQ mount.

Thanks for any help.

With EQDIRCheck, you need to select the COM port that the USB2EQ device is mapped to. Prior to that, you need to download and install the USB2EQ device driver and the ASCOM platform. Have you done all of these?

I've got the virtual com port driver 2.12.28 installed and ascom 6. I just now checked and I can connect to the mount with EQMOD and TheSkyX using the cable. EQDIRCheck shows that it can't connect.

Thanks.

Glad to hear that the cable is working with your application. Since it works with your app, then the USB2EQ driver and ASCOM must be working correctly. If you have the correct COM port selected in EQDIRCheck, I'm not sure why it would not work. It is just a debugging tool though, glad to hear that you are up and running.
