I'm attempting to install a USB2EQ6 on my WinXP PC. When I plug in the USB connector, a dialog box pops up asking to connect to the Internet to search for the drivers. (I have no Internet connection available in the observatory, so cannot allow. There is, of course, no installation CD). When I close the dialog without allowing Internet connection, I receive an error message saying that there was a problem with installing the new hardware. The EQMOD driver setup cannot find the connected cable/mount.
What software does Windows want, and how can I give it what it needs? Thanks.

Re: USB2EQ6 installation problem
Hi, Joe.
You can download the drivers from:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
then copy them to a USB memory stick, CD, etc and take them to your observatory computer and install them.
There is also a link to the drivers on our webpage, just below the USB2EQ6 and USB2EQ5 items at:
http://store.shoestringastronomy.com/products_eq.htm
Thanks,
