Two focusing motors for guiding?

Post by oldfield » Wed Jun 06, 2007 4:53 am

Suppose I've a manual EQ mount with only RA tracking, and I remove the manual slow motion knobs and attach two focusing motors to them, one for RA fine adjustment and one for DEC fine adjustment, given the RA manual control knob can be used whilte the RA motor is running for it has a slip clutch there.

Do you have any product which can do webcam autoguiding to this mount?

Sorry, we don't have a product that would work directly. However, if you use some relays with your DC motors, and hook them up as shown in this schematic:

you should be able to use the GPUSB or GPINT-PT to drive the motors and thus autoguide your mount.

The pushbuttons shown in the schematic are optional, only if you also want a handcontroller that can be used to activate the motors.

I hope this helps!
