lxusb/webcam modification

Post by Dan » Sun Feb 11, 2007 4:56 pm

fixing to modify a phillips 900 webcam to work long exposure w/lxusb. not quite sure about connecting single ended rj-12 or 11? cable from shoestring. i was looking @ sc-1 mod on the steve chamber site, but it doesn't deem to address the shoestring cable. anyone who might have info i would appreciate it.

Dan,

On page 4 of the LXUSB User Manual (http://www.store.shoestringastronomy.co ... _LXUSB.pdf) is a diagram of how the RJ-12 connector should be pinned out in order to work with the LXUSB. The names of the signals in that document should correspond with signal names shown on Steve Chambers' website.

ya i looked on that site and it seems to show how to wire for serial connector but not to the lxusb cable. i know that is an old configuration. i will have to look at it some more. one of the guys over @ maxim was writing a new driver for me to run two web cameras together. one for guiding & one for imaging. them guys are pretty good. it works well. i'll let you know what happens with the lxusb after a little more study & thought on steves web site.
thanx
