Could not connect to EQ Mount
Mount: Orion Sirius EQ-G
PC: Windows 10, 64 Bit
EQ Direct Interfacing: USB2EQ5, 8 pin, into hand controller jack
Downloaded and installed:
EQDIRCheck v1.0.0
Virtual COM Port Drivers for USB2EQ6 and USB2EQ5
Selected Windows; 2.12.36.1; setup executable

Didn’t run as administrator, cable connected as installing
COM6 and USB Serial Converter are shown in device manager, none have to be updated….
Completed successful driver Installation: “FTDI CDM Driver Package Ready to use”
Ran: EQDIR Check; COM6,9600,1000,1
CONNECT: “Could not connect to EQ Mount”
Please, any help or direction appreciated. Thank you

It looks like you have done everything correctly. Are you sure COM 6 is what the cable mapped to when it was installed?
You might try unplugging the cable, telling Windows to forget about COM 6, then plug the cable in again and see which COM port it maps too.
You might also try manually reassigning the COM port to some other number and then seeing if EQDIRCheck works.
Oh, and one other question just to be clear. The cable is plugged into the handcontroller port on the mount (not the port on the handcontroller itself)?
