I have a SkyWatcher Eq6R and want to run my softwares directly to pc. What do I need
Is it the shoestring cable from my mount or the middle connection of the bottom of my controller to my pc via usb
Currently I connect my rj12 under the controller left to right on the far right using usb b
I run my Orion StarShoot Auto Guider from usb b straight to a powered usb hub
I connect under controller far left to guide on mount head
And lastly I connect cigarette lighter power cable with round end to mount head
I run Starry Night software. Deep sky planner and phd2 with this setup
Lastly my Canon EOS T3i from micro usb straight to usb powered hub for long exposures with EOS Backyard Software

Re: EQMOD SHOESTRING
You can bypass the handcontroller completely and run directly to the handcontroller port on your mount using either the USB2EQ5 or USB2EQ6 (depends on the type of connector on your mount). I believe the software you have listed is compatible with the ASCOM standard, so you will also need the ASCOM platform installed, and the EQMOD ASCOM driver installed. See www.ascom-standards.org and eq-mod.sourceforge.net for details.
