dsusb-ir1 and usb1.1

Post by Pieter » Thu Sep 17, 2009 6:14 pm

Will the dsusb-ir1 work when attached to a usb1.1 port?
I attached mine to a usb 1.1 port, and the computer (XP) did not automatically recognize it.
I then attached it to a usb 2.0 port and it worked fine.

The reason I ask is, I have 4 2.0 and 2 1.1 ports. If 2.0 is required, then I have to use all 4 for: GPUSB, Nikon D70, Meade DSI and DSUSB. Am concerned there might not be enough power for all 4 devices ( although the Nikon is powered by a separate non-USB cable).

All of our USB products should work from USB1.1 ports. If you can't get a configuration that works with the ports you have, you could add more USB2.0 ports by adding a USB hub.

Thanks Doug,
I'll give it a try. A powered 2.0 hub might be the way to go -- I'm sure to need another USB attached gadget.
