SkyWatcher Star Adventurer ST-4 Port

Post by raymos » Mon Mar 21, 2016 11:00 am

I have a SkyWatcher Star Adventurer mount. I like to do some brief drift alignments using the DARV method, which requires slewing the mount in the RA axis. The Star Adventurer has two control buttons on the mount to do this, but I have to be holding the mount to do this, which can cause unwanted movement in the mount.

The mount has an ST-4 port (no RJ-45). It would seem I could use a simple box with two push button switches with an RJ-12 cable to slew the mount in the RA direction. Does anyone know if there exists a simple hand control box that plugs into the ST-4 port to accomplish this?

I am not aware of any, but this is far outside my experience base.
