Hi,
I bought the complete kit from Opticstar, and fitted it as per the shoestring leaflets, and after soldering the wires to the handset button pad, the results are:
1. Original handset on its own –
All movements and buttons working correctly.
2. Handset plugged into GPUSB box, USB plug left out –
Both the motors run without any buttons being pressed.
3. Connected the GPUSB box to a computer USB port –
The motors still run without any buttons being pressed.
4. Connected the GPUSB box to a computer USB port and ran GPUSB Check software -
The motors still run without any buttons being pressed.
I can turn the led on, off, red, green. Clicking on the direction boxes, lights them up, but the motors still keep turning the same way.
What do I do now ?
Regards,
Paul

Re: GPUSB + HEQ-5 = Motors won't stop !
What are you using for a cable between the GPKIT and the GPUSB? If you did not buy it from us, then check it to be sure that it is wired "pin 1 to pin 1" per this document:
http://store.shoestringastronomy.com/gu ... cables.pdf
Motor run is a very typical symptom of a cable that is wired "pin 1 to pin 6".

Hi,
From this and other forums I have read, I had a feeling it was that, but as I bought it all as a kit, I didn't believe it would be wrong.
Still, I have put a new 6way plug on the end (other way round) and all is well now.
Thanks.
