Do I Need GPUSB?

Post by jack144 » Thu Jun 02, 2011 7:51 pm

I apologize for what must be a stupid question, but please help me understand. I ordered the little handcontroller kit and will modify the controller on my Orion EQ-3 mount for use with Orion Awesome AutoGuider Refractor Telescope Package. Do I need to also order the GPUSB guide port interface adapter?
Thanks,
Jack

The answer depends upon what you are using for the guide imager. Please let me know what that is.

I see that the Awesome Autoguide package includes the Orion Starshoot Autoguide Imager. This imager has a built-in autoguide port driver. Thus, you should not need our GPUSB. The output of the Starshoot will plug into the port you have added through the modification of your controller.
