GPUSB vs. USB Serial Adapter

Post by homerlex » Tue Aug 24, 2010 7:36 pm

I have a laptop that has no serial port. My LX200 has a serial cable connection for the RS232 port.

Does the GPUSB provide any advantage over using a standard USB Serial adapter for my connection?

Thanks in advance.

The GPUSB when used with the proper software will only provide the small correctional movements of the mount that are necessary for autoguiding. If you want full control of all the features of your mount, you'll need a USB-to-serial converter.
