BT2EQ6 Hardware issue

Post by astrojohn » Mon Aug 13, 2018 9:08 am

All,

I received a new BT2EQ6 yesterday. I connected it to the DB-9 port of my Orion Atlas EQ-G. After powering it on, the led on the device doesn’t turn on.

I’d like to test if it is a problem with the device, or if it is just a problem with my mount (I won’t be able to test the port with a HC for another week or two). How can I test the two possible sources of the error?

Thanks,

John

Without a handcontroller, this would be difficult. If you have a 12VDC power supply and a bare DB9 connector that would mate to the BT2EQ6, you could power it up to see if the LED blinks, which would be decent indicator of proper operation. If this is an option for you, let me know and I will provide the pinout.

We do test every device after we build them and before they ship.

It was a problem with L2 on the motor PCB being blown. I shorted the connection and was able to get it up and running.

Thanks for the advice
