Motors for the Losmandy GM-8 and G-11

Post by ericedwards » Mon Jul 17, 2006 6:04 pm

If I had Gemini motors on my non-Gemini Losmandy, a GPUSB, and the Sky 6, couldn't I have a GOTO system? I need motors, baby!

The Sky does not support the GPUSB. The GPUSB is really intended as an interface for autoguiding during astrophotography exposures. The minute corrections made during autoguiding are very small, whereas the fast slewing typically done for GOTO functionality is at a much higher rate. In theory, what you describe could work, but in practice, it is not done this way.
