Re: DSUSB cable - ERROR Initializing the DSUSB adapter issue! - SOLVED
I'm not sure if a reinstall of ASCOM and/or APT 32 bit version would help. Hopefully your friend or APT knows the answer.

Re: DSUSB cable - ERROR Initializing the DSUSB adapter issue! - SOLVED
Since you are able to change the LED and open and close the shutter, we know the DSUSB is working and able to communicate with your PC. APT has the drivers built in, so no need to separately load a driver. To be sure, do you have the camera's USB cable hooked up? You need both this cable and the DSU...

Re: How to open FCUSB
You will need to use an application that supports ASCOM in addition to the ASCOM platform and the FCUSB ASCOM driver. It's been a while since I have surveyed what's out there. If you just want to test the FCUSB with your focuser, you can download and install FocusPal from our website: http://store.s...

Re: Tak EM200 and GPCNV-TAK and GPUSB connection method
Hi Dennis,
The RJ12-to-RJ12 device that comes with the GPCNV-TAK is simply a coupler for adding additional lengths of cable. If you can get your GPUSB that close, you can remove the coupler and plug the remaining cable directly into the GPUSB.
Enjoy!

Re: Trying to figure out a problem with GPUSBCheck
You might also try bypassing the GPUSBCheck step and go straight to autoguiding. PHD Guiding would allow you to nudge the scope to check that everything is functioning.

Re: Command protocol
You are correct, the FCUSB is a pure USB device, not mapped as a serial port. If you would still like to use the FCUSB and are writing your own software, there is DLL available for it. Let me know if you are interested.

Re: GPUSB error message to connect via ascom on windows 10 64 bits. I need a driver dll to be recognized in Cartes du Ci
The GPUSB does not have a 64 bit driver. The GPUSB is only intended to creates small movements of the telescope mount that are used when autoguiding during a long exposure photograph. It will not create the large sweeping movements that you would use with an application like Cartes du Ciel to move t...

Re: Could not connect to EQ Mount
It looks like you have done everything correctly. Are you sure COM 6 is what the cable mapped to when it was installed? You might try unplugging the cable, telling Windows to forget about COM 6, then plug the cable in again and see which COM port it maps too. You might also try manually reassigning ...

First you need the Virtual COM Port driver from FTDI, found at: https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm Then you need the ASCOM platform, start at: https://www.ascom-standards.org/ Then you need the EQMOD ASCOM driver, start at: http://eq-mod.sourceforge.net/ Finally, if you don't already have some...

I've seen it install with both an incoming port and an outgoing port. Be sure to select the outgoing port. Try different USB ports on you computer and if possible a different computer. If that doesn't work, the best source of information is the EQMOD group at https://groups.io/g/EQMOD The EQMOD deve...

Re: EQ6-R Pro mount not visible to computer
Sorry, I just noticed this recent post. Have you installed the FTDI virtual COM port driver for the USBEQ5? I assume you have since you said there is a COM port assigned. In the past, ASCOM needed a COM port number between 1 and 7. I think this restriction has been lifted, but you might want to chec...
