Ron,

I suspect the Tak RJ11-to-DIN adapter may be the issue. Do you have any technical information on the pinout of the RJ11 side of it? Shoestring does have a Tak converter (GPCNV-TAK) that is known to work with Tak mounts.

After going through the Losmandy documentation for the Gemini controller, Forrest and I have discovered that there are two version of the Gemini. It appears that the older one is incompatible with the GPUSB and GPINT-PT products from Shoestring. There may be a way to make the GPUSB and GPINT-PT comp...

Bob,

You have me stumped on this one. There should be no reason that it would not work on Win2000. Try uninstalling GuideDog and ASCOM, then re-installing in this order.

1) ASCOM

2) GPUSB ASCOM driver

3) GuideDog

Also, you could try a post on the Yahoo ASCOM-Talk forum.

Michel, This should not be a problem. All the autoguide software programs I am familiar with allow you to reverse the Dec and RA directions if you need to, or they use an auto-calibrate routine to figure it out themselves. This is to allow for different optical configurations, north/south hemisphere...

I would think only the port on the hub that has the 1.1 device connected to it would drop back in speed. I would be very surprised if the entire hub dropped back because one port has a low speed device connected to it. If you know of a reference that says otherwise, I would be interested in seeing it.

It is a USB1.1 low-speed device. However, USB2.0 is backward compatible, so any USB port should work with the GPUSB. I have tested it with quite a variety of USB ports and hubs and never noticed any problems.

At one time, Astroart had native GPUSB support and did not go through the ASCOM platform. You might check with the Astroart people to see if they can give you a better answer.

Laurent, I believe you need to download and install the "Interface CCD" found on the French page at: http://www.msb-astroart.com/ccd_fr.htm or on the English page it is called the "User Interface" at: http://www.msb-astroart.com/ccd_en.htm They mention the Shoestring USB interface in the first item ...

ASCOM Driver for the GPUSB

Now any autoguide software that support the ASCOM telescope standard can be used with the GPUSB Guide Port Interface Adapter. This opens up support for the GPUSB to popular software packages such as GuideDog and MaxIm Essentials. Details can be found in the GPUSB User Manual and on the Shoestring As...
