Bill, After some dialogue with Software Bisque tech support and the fellow that wrote the FocusAPI that allows ASCOM drivers to work with CCDSoft, I don't think there is a quick and easy solution to this problem. CCDSoft expects a focuser to be able to report its position. Because the FCUSB has no k...

Ross, A true GoTo mount has some form of positional feedback so that it knows where it is pointing, or at least exactly how far it moved. This is usually done with shaft encoders. It can also be done with just stepper motors as long as nothing happens that causes it to not step when the motor though...

RALPH, I received some information about the handcontroller from JMI. I don't think there is a simple way to modify it by just wiring in the signals from the GPUSB or GPINT-PT. It probably could be done by wiring in some small relays in parallel with the handcontroller switches, and adding some pull...

Ralph, Sorry for the slow reply. I think the easiest way to do this would be to link into the handcontroller. I did a little poking around inside my Motofocus handcontroller, assuming it is the same as the Motodec handcontroller, but didn't find anything obvious about how it works. I am attempting t...

Leonard, I appreciate all your work on this. Your information alone would be enough that I would say the FCUSB will work with the Meade 1209. Furthermore, I just received word today from a customer in Italy that has successfully used the FCUSB with his Meade 1209. The next time I edit the website, I...

MacDougal and Leonard Thank you for this information, this is exactly what I needed to know. Assuming the information you found is correct, the 3.5mm connector of the 1209 should just plug in and work with the FCUSB. The FCUSB uses pulse-width modulation (PWM) that varies the effective DC voltage fr...
