Re: Guide Port Converter for Takahashi Mounts Item #: GPCNV-TAK
Didn't mean to cause confusion. As far as I know, this type of connector does not have a standardized way to number the pins. Thus, the way I number them and the way you did are different, but the end result is that the physical/electrical connections are correct. Glad to hear you have everything ru...

Re: Connecting GPUSB to Losmandy G9 Mount
From the diagram you provided, if the direction of the LED in the diagram is correct, then the 492 has an "active-high" configuration, which would explain why you had the failure. If true, you need the GPUSB-AH, not the GPUSB. Do you have a voltmeter? If so, attach the positive lead to pin 2 of the ...

Re: Guide Port Converter for Takahashi Mounts Item #: GPCNV-TAK
I use a mirror-imaged pin numbering scheme on the DIN connector, but other than that you have the correct connections, so I don't think anything is broken. You might try flexing the cable a bit while testing continuity, just in case it is an intermittent connection.

Re: Orion snyscan dobsonian xx12g
I agree. One other thing to keep in mind with an Alt-Az mount for astrophotography. For longer exposure times, you will suffer field rotation unless you include a derotator.

Re: Orion snyscan dobsonian xx12g
While the USB2EQ5 interface cable would work with this telescope since it uses the Synscan handcontroller, the problem is that it is an Alt-Az mount. The EQMOD ASCOM driver does not currently support Alt-Az mounts, only equatorial mounts.

Re: Longer length cable
There are so many to choose from, I would hate to recommend one without knowing what your needs are for cable length to PC, distance to a power source and who your favorite retailer is. Here is one example, but the USB cord is pretty short. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Port-2-5A-power-adapter...

Re: Longer length cable
I can make them shorter easily, but not longer. They come precut to this length prior to me finishing the assembly. Also, the TTL signal levels coming out of the cable in to the mount are not intended to propagate well over long distances. If you are only going 12 feet, a USB extension cable between...

Re: SWO-ASI cameras and coiled cord GPCC5
The best way to figure this out is to have pinouts (including pin number mapping) for the guide port connectors for the camera and mount. I've done a little searching, but can't find this information.

Re: USB2EQ6 Connection Issues
I worked with Craig on this issue and we figured out there was a wiring issue on the USB2EQ6 he received that escaped through our normal test process. We will be revising that process to prevent this from happening in the future.

Hi Joe. Curious to know if you ever got your system up and running? I have another customer with the same system and he is having issues.
Thank you in advance.

Re: DSUSB and Nikon D90 problem
This is very strange, and something I have not heard of before. The only thing I can think of is that there is either a ground loop or possibly an electrostatic discharge (ESD) event. If your camera and the DSUSB are plugged into the same laptop, or into the same USB hub, then a ground loop seems un...
