I ejected the laptop from its docking station and the DSUSB check now works.
I have another question though. When I select "open shutter" it triggers the shutter, but the shutter opens and closes on its own. "close shutter" in this case, does nothing.
Thanks,
Eric

DSUSB vs Vista
Hi Doug, I have the same problem other forum users have with Vista. I can't get DSUSB to work with Vista. 1. I have a sony vaio laptop running Vista. 2. I get the error message "Error initializing the DSUSB adapter! Make sure it is connected and try again." 3. Red light is on 4. Only version of DSUS...

Doug, I've posted a couple of pictures taken on October 20th with my new autoguiding setup. (Andromeda Galaxy and the Veil Nebula.) Click here to check 'em out! I'm happy to report that I sat in my recliner under a nice warm sleeping bag and watched the Orionid meteor shower the whole evening, while...

GPUSB - Works!
Hi All, Just a note to let people know one of the combinations that's working. I've sold my Meade LPI in favor of a much more sensitive DSI. Also, Guide-Dog does not currently support the Meade DSI, so I had to find something that does. The Maxim MaxDSLR not only supports DSI, but it has an Automati...

Ascom
Josh, I'm not familiar with your system, but a couple of things to try: 1. Go to the following site: http://ascom-standards.org/downloads.html Download platform 4.1 and install it. Doug says that Maxim essentials is only supported through Ascom, so you have to have the platform installed. Then, in M...

Motors for the Losmandy GM-8 and G-11
If I had Gemini motors on my non-Gemini Losmandy, a GPUSB, and the Sky 6, couldn't I have a GOTO system? I need motors, baby!

Software?
Josh,
When you say "IT gives me an error", what does? What software are you using?

Alistar, That's about the size of it! I've used an LPI, Guidedog, & GPUSB, and they work together on my Losmandy, which uses a standard guideport interface. I'm not sure about the celestar. If you get the GPUSB and the GPUSB check software, it will let you know right away if it's controlling your mo...

What cameras work with Guidedog?
What cameras are working correctly with Guidedog and GPUSB?
Meade DSI?
Neximage?
Etc?
I've used an LPI before, but I'd like to know what else works.

Jack, Doug's on vacation. Guide dog's hard to use. Here are a couple things you can check for. Make sure the camera is on and displaying a focused image on the Guidedog screen. If not, Click on the Camera pulldown and click on source to select your camera. When you're in preview mode: When you click...
