Re: Problem with EQDIR

Glad to hear that the cable is working with your application. Since it works with your app, then the USB2EQ driver and ASCOM must be working correctly. If you have the correct COM port selected in EQDIRCheck, I'm not sure why it would not work. It is just a debugging tool though, glad to hear that y...

Re: Problem with EQDIR

With EQDIRCheck, you need to select the COM port that the USB2EQ device is mapped to. Prior to that, you need to download and install the USB2EQ device driver and the ASCOM platform. Have you done all of these?

Re: Connector "like" the EQCBL-01

Do you need this connector on the end of the EQCBL-01? If so, what two things are you connecting together? What pinout do you need? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to be sure you are using the product properly. Just because a connector is the same does not mean the signal levels and communic...

Re: Oh the EQ3 Headache I have..

I'm not a much of an expert on EQx mounts, but full remote control boils down to which handset you have. Could you provide a picture to help clarify this?

Re: Question about the EQDIR

The best option is the USB2EQ5 cable that we sell. The only reason you would want a EQDIR/EQCBL-01 combination is if you want to run a cable further than 15 feet.

Re: BT2EQ5

Another thing to check: The BT device should create two COM ports. Make sure you select the one that is labelled as the outgoing port.

Re: BT2EQ5

One of the biggest issues the Bluetooth connection has is latency in the link. If the link goes down for more than around 1 second, the "could not connect" error will occur. I see this sometimes even when I am doing testing of the products before shipment. On the EQMOD Yahoo group, there is a fair a...

Re: BT2EQ5

Yes, the BT2EQ devices are compatible with EQMOD.

Instructions can be found at:

In essence, once you pair the BT, it should appear as a COM port. Just connect to that COM port number though EQMOD like you would any other COM port device.

Re: What do I need? EQDIR to USB...

I would recommend either the USB2EQ5 or USB2EQ6, depending on the style of connector where the handcontroller normally plugs into your mount. That should be all you need.

Re: Windows 10 and DSUSB driver

I have not used the DSUSB with Eclipse Orchestrator, but the DSUSB is not a serial port device. From the Shutter Cable Configuration screen shown at: http://www.moonglowtechnologies.com/products/EclipseOrchestrator/GSG_EOpro.shtml#4 I am guessing you need to select the DSUSB instead of Serial Port. ...

Re: DSUSB will not communicate with a laptop that has newer Intel Hardware

I haven't come up with any new ideas. Some sites I saw recommended upgrading to Win10, but I am guessing you want to stick with Win 7 for other reasons.

If we can't find a workaround and the DSUSB is not of use to you, I am always willing to give refunds for returned products.

Re: DSUSB will not communicate with a laptop that has newer Intel Hardware

This is the first report we have had of a problem like this, so I don't have any history to use to come up with an answer. The DSUSB is USB 1.1, but all later versions of USB are supposed to support earlier versions. Interesting that the OS installs the device properly, but doesn't support it after ...

Re: Focusmaster Windows 10 Drivers

USB3 is backward compatible with earlier USB revisions. I don't think that should have any effect.

Q4 on the Focusmaster or the FCUSB?

Re: Focusmaster Windows 10 Drivers

We have many customers running on Windows 10 without trouble, so there must be something unique about your setup that is causing the issue. The FCUSB will ask that it is provided with 100mA of supply current from the USB port, so I am wondering if perhaps the Surface is not capable of providing this...
