Re: FCUSB ASCOM must always use ASCOM Device HUB?

I can't say for sure why it only works with ASCOM hub in the path, but I suspect it is because the FCUSB ASCOM driver is 32-bit and not directly compatible with SharpCap.

Re: FCUSB issues

The FCUSB should put out +5V in one direction and -5V in the other direction, i.e. the polarity of the 5V should reverse. Moonlite made two variations of their pinout so be sure that is correct, see three paragraphs down on this webpage: http://store.shoestringastronomy.com/products_fc.htm. Yes, I c...

Re: Strange issue using GPUSB ASCOM Driver in FireCapture

I do not have a 64-bit ASCOM driver at this time, or the skills to produce one myself. I would gladly support anyone that would like to create a new driver.

Re: For Canon R6?

You would just need to add the DSCBL-01 adapter cable since you already have the DSUSB shutter controller.

Re: Do new mirrorless cameras still need Shoestring cables?

Per this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/accessories/Shutter-Releases-for-the-Nikon-Z6-II-Kit/1599732-REG-48203 the Nikon Z6 has the DC-2 connector on it, so the DSUSB with DSCBL-15 adapter cable should work. Per this: https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART182501 the Canon R7 has...

Re: DSUSB With Nikon D5000

The pinout for the 3.5mm connector in the DSUSB is shown on page 5 of this document: http://store.shoestringastronomy.com/ShutterRemoteMod.pdf Various cameras require different sequencing of the Wakeup/Focus and Shutter signals. It sounds like your camera requires both to be asserted in order to fir...

Re: Problem getting my Nikon D7500 recognized

DSUSBCheck provides very low level control of the DSUSB, i.e. it allows you to control the LED color and the two electrical signals all separately. For many cameras, both the "Assert" and the "Open" signals must be used to get the shutter to open. Some cameras only take one or the other signal to ge...
