Yes, that is exactly the same as the cg5 handset.

Anyway, I've now ordered the GPUSB. If it doesn't work, I'll send it back for a refund.

The pin configuration is straight through. So I have been using the correct cable.

So a GPUSB should work with this hand controller with the added Shoestring port..nothing else is needed (added relays etc)?

Hello, I've just modded my Celestron CG-5 motor controller with the Shoestring port kit and am trying to use the QHY5 to guide it in PHD. However, the software will only move the mount in one direction on the DEC axis and none on the RA. It seems the guider is only sending signals through one wire, ...
